Fishing from the World’s Highest Bridge

Even if it's  allowed, you will need about a thousand feet of fishing line to just reach the surface of the Arkansas river below. And if you manage to catch one, goodluck reeling that fish in :-)

The Royal Gorge bridge was the highest bridge in the world from 1929 to 2001, when it was surpassed by the Si Du River bridge in China. The Royal Gorge bridge is still holding the record for highest bridge in North America though.

We walked this bridge all the way across and back and what an experience!  It's a bit scary though when strong winds or cars passing move this suspension bridge because you can really feel it shake. My suggestion for those who fear heights, do not look down while you're walking across. Some of the gaps between the wooden planks are wide enough that a sunglass or a camera can easily fall through the spaces between the planks. To some, looking down through those gaps may give them the sensation of falling. Trust me I know ;-)
